St. Patrick's Catholic Primary School

Together we are growing in God's love

" If you can’t fly, then run. If you can’t run, then walk. If you can’t walk, then crawl. But, whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward.”  - Martin Luther King Jr

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

(SEND)

At St Patrick's, we believe that every child is entitled to a broad and balanced curriculum which creates opportunities for them to fulfil their potential. As a school, we ensure all staff are aware of SEND and receive high quality information and training working collaboratively with outside professionals. Our whole team strives to care for your child in a loving and nurturing environment, providing a stimulating curriculum that enables all to participate and achieve. We aim to quickly identify pupils and provide for children with SEND ensuring that parents are fully aware of the SEND process and are informed of their child's learning throughout the year.

We believe that every child is important and brings something unique to our school. This is fundamental to our inclusive ethos: we welcome all.

For further information or to speak to our SENDco, please contact Mrs. E. Cooper via the school office on 01946 810513.

Specialist Resourced Provision

Specialist Resourced Provision places are for children and young people with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Resourced provision gives students extra help and support so that they can access the mainstream classroom, an equal access to education and to succeed in school and social situations.

Our SRP is split into two rooms; The Willows (Early Years and Key Stage 1) and The Meadows (Key Stage 2). More information can be found under the Resourced Provision tab.

Admissions Guidance for Specialist Placements

Admissions to special schools and resourced provisions are for the local authority to determine based on its consideration of all the advice received about a child or young person’s special educational needs.

Please find more information on the Cumberland website and in the policy ' SEND Admissions Guidance for Specialist Provisions in Cumberland for children and young people with an EHCP'.
