WORSHIP IN ACTION
“Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works.”
Matthew 5:16
At St Patrick’s, worship does not end when prayer time finishes. We encourage our children to take what they have heard in Scripture and live it out through their words, choices and actions. Through child-led prayer, reflection, service, kindness, charity and care for others, pupils learn that prayer should shape the way we live. Our children are supported to plan, prepare and lead prayer and liturgy, helping them grow as confident, thoughtful and active members of our Catholic school community.
Miss Hamblet’s class enjoyed a peaceful beginning to their day with a Lectio Divina session in our prayer garden.
A Year 4 Lectio
As part of our Year of Listening, our Ministers of the Word have been sharing Bible stories with our younger children in our prayer room during lunchtime. The children are taking a little time out of their busy day to listen with their hearts. What a beautiful way to pray and reflect.
Our school community came together at St Mary’s Church for a wonderful Family Mass to celebrate the feast day of our patron saint, St Patrick.
The children played a special part in the celebration, with some leading the readings and members of our school choir joining the church choir in song.
It was a beautiful occasion, bringing together our school, families and parish community in faith and prayer. We were incredibly proud of all the children who contributed to making the celebration so special.
