Our School Mission

In 2015, Pope Francis defined 'unity' when he said:

"To understand one another, and to grow in charity and truth, we need to pause, to accept and listen to one another. In this way, we already begin to experience unity. Unity grows along the way; it never stands still. Unity happens when we walk together."

At St. Patrick's, central to our whole school's being is unity: together, we are united as brothers and sisters in the faith, with Christ at the Centre. It is this sense of togetherness, where “communion with the Trinity, rendered possible by the encounter with Christ, unites persons with one other” (CCE, 2007) that makes our school distinct. And it is this unity that underpins our school Mission Statement.

Our Mission Statement was thoughtfully created, together, to encapsulate the very essence of our kind and caring school; one that is rooted in Gospel Values; one that is epitomises Jesus' greatest commandment to: "Love one another. As I have loved you." (John 13).

To celebrate our school's mission statement and to allow children to reflect on the meaning and purpose of it's words our children were invited to design a symbol that could be be a representation of it.  We were incredibly impressed with the children's interpretations of the statement.  Our chosen symbol, which is now used in school to represent our mission statement was a well-considered design and represents our mission and community perfectly.
