PCD5 £19,698 , per annum , pro rata , term time , 27.5 hours per week
Description: The governors are seeking to employ an outstanding teaching assistant who is creative, dynamic, highly motivated and committed to improving the life chances of children.
The teaching assistant will work under the direction of senior staff and teaching staff to support the delivery of quality learning and teaching of pupils with SEN.
Will assist the class teacher and other staff in carrying out planned activities to meet the needs of the pupil, making necessary adjustments.
Will support the pupil 1:1 and within groups/class setting.
Will encourage the pupil’s participation and enable the pupil to become more independent.
Will understand the pupil’s learning needs and provide regular feedback so that decisions can be made about next steps for the teaching of the child.
Will care for the safety and well-being of the child.
Will liaise effectively with all staff in school, including specialist professionals. The post commences on 19th April 2022. The initial post is fixed term for one year but will be reviewed and considered for extension as the SEN provision for the pupils are reviewed at the end of the academic year.
We are looking for someone who:
• Has a recognised, relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification
• Awareness of practices and procedures within education relating to the welfare, safety and education of children
• Has a good understanding of child development and learning
• Is adaptable and able to work constructively as part of a team
• Has experience of contributing to planning, monitoring and assessing pupils
