Today we are having a science day. Have a look at the document below and choose 3 activities that you would like to have a go at.

Thank you to those that have emailed a prayer for our local care homes. They were lovely and will definitely put a smile on someone's face. If you have wrote one but not sent it yet please email it before lunchtime as Mrs Lewthwaite is delivering them after school. Thank you.

Good Morning Year 1.
It's been lovely speaking to you all over the last week. I just have a few of you left who I haven't been able to get hold of so hopefully I will manage to catch you today.
I also know some of you are now reaching the end of your home learning book so, if you need a new book please pop to school where you will be able to collect a new one.

Today I would like you to practise some tricky words. Remember these are words that we can't sound out and just have to learn how to read and spell them. Please click the link below and go to Year 1- Spelling Rule 38 - Common exception words 6.
Then, I would like you to practise writing these words in your handwriting book. Remember to use your cursive handwriting. (Just use your home learning book if you have run out of space in your handwriting book.)

2. Complete the repeating patterns in your home learning book.
We have been asked to help with a very important job this week! Our local Covid-19 response group are making up afternoon tea boxes for elderly people in our care homes in our area and they have asked us all to either write a prayer, card or a poem to put inside each box.
We know how much you all enjoy doing things for our community so this your chance to really brighten up someone's day!
Make sure you put your first name on your creation and St Patrick's Primary School so then the people receiving it know who it is from.
Mrs Lewthwaite is going to be taking these after school on Friday so please email them to email@example.com

Please read 'I love my Garden' then answer the questions below in your home learning book. The answers are on page 3 which you can use to check your answers.

I have been planting again but this time I wanted to prove what plants need to grow.

Good Morning Year 1.
I hope everyone enjoyed learning more about our oceans yesterday. In school we focused our day on the story Somebody Swallowed Stanley and then in the afternoon we made our own 'Stanley Kites'. Have a go at this if you are looking for something else to do.

Today I would like you to do some phonics work and I would like everyone to revise/ learn the split a-e digraph. Please watch this video, it takes you through a phonics lesson. It is about 20 minutes long but this is similar to what we would normally do in a phonics lesson in school. So worth the watch everyone!

I hope you have all had a lovely weekend and are ready for a new week of home learning.
Today is World Oceans Day so some of your activities are linked to this important topic today. Can you remember the 5 oceans of the world? (We did learn about them but way back in January!) If you can't remember them maybe that's something you want to learn more about as your 3rd activity of the day.

For World Oceans Day I would like you to watch the story 'Someone Swallowed Stanley'.
