Autumn Term 1
We looked at sorting objects trying to think of different ways. eg. colour, size, type of object. We then moved on to counting and did lots of practical activities. Have a look at the photos below.
We listened to the story Billy's Bucket and then imagined what we could see in our own bucket and wrote some sentences.
We have been practicing counting forwards and backwards. We have been getting used to writing our answers in our maths books but we have also done lots of practical activities too. Have a look at some pictures below.
We read the story Knuffle Bunny, all about Trixie losing her favourite toy. On Monday we brought in our favourite toy and wrote and painted pictures about them.
We have started our topic work which is all about the Gun Powder plot. We looked at pictures of London today and London in 1605. Next week we will start to learn about Guy Fawkes and his plot.
We have been working on one more and one less than a number.
After learning the story of Knuffle Bunny with actions, we were able to write the story in our books. We tried really hard to sound out the words and remember finger spaces and full stops.
We have been doing gymnastics in PE for the last couple of weeks. We have been learning different types of jumps and different ways to balance.
We are learning to log on to the computer and Purple Mash. We are working hard to find the correct letters on the keyboard by playing the game 2type.

Music- We have been trying hard to play the 'C' and 'G' notes on the recorder and Glockenspiel in time with the music.
Maths- We have been learning the Greater than, Less than and Equal to signs. We have used these to help us order numbers.
Whinlatter Forest trip to learn more about animals and their habitats. We also went on a blind trail and looked for autumnal items.
We have been learning about Autumn. On Monday we went on an Autumnal walk in Cleator Moor and picked up some leaves that had fallen from the trees, some sycamore keys and pine cones.
Thank you for completing your homework last week. It has made some lovely displays in our classrooms.
World Mental Health Day
We took part in a yoga session and did some mindfulness colouring.
This week we have been learning about nocturnal animals- owls in particular.
We watched videos, wrote facts with our partners to help us to write full sentences in our Literacy books on Thursday and made craft owls in art. Have a look at the photos below:
